1. Introduction
Piacoin ($PIA) is a cryptocurrency designed to power decentralized finance (DeFi) and GameFi applications. Built on BNB Smart Chain (BSC), Piacoin prioritizes low transaction costs, community governance, and accessibility for peer-to-peer commerce.
The Piacoin platform was a multi-component Web3 ecosystem encompassing a decentralized exchange (PiaDex), a GameFi virtual environment (Piaverse), and a planned proprietary blockchain layer (Piachain). PIA served as the currency of exchange, governance instrument, and liquidity provision asset across all components.
Why Piacoin?

2. Problem Statement
Centralized digital marketplaces impose high transaction fees, opacity, susceptibility to censorship, and single points of failure. Existing decentralized alternatives lacked the combination of intuitive UX, low costs, and integrated gaming layers needed for mainstream adoption.
3. The Solution
Piacoin proposed a trustless, secure peer-to-peer transaction platform combining DeFi liquidity mechanisms with GameFi engagement incentives, leveraging BSC infrastructure. Full technical details in the documentation.
4. PiaDex — Decentralized Exchange
PiaDex used an Automated Market Maker (AMM) model, eliminating traditional order books and relying on liquidity pools for price determination.
Liquidity Pools
Users contributed assets to liquidity pools in exchange for LP tokens, earning a share of swap fees generated by the pool.
5. Piaverse — GameFi Environment
Piaverse was the GameFi component — an immersive virtual environment where PIA served as native currency for in-game assets, experiences, and transactions. The model combined traditional gaming with DeFi yield mechanics.
6. Piachain — Planned Blockchain Layer
Piachain represented the long-term vision: a proprietary blockchain layer for high-volume DeFi operations. It was a roadmap item — not deployed before the project became inactive.

9. Governance
PIA holders participate in DAO governance over the protocol. BlockSAFU classified the contract as DAO type. Holders could vote on upgrades, fee parameters, and ecosystem fund allocations.
